Refractories and Industrial Ceramics Aims and scope

This article discusses the problem of recycling wastes in the form of spent refractories and heat-insulating materials in the lining of electrolysis baths used to produce aluminum. The environmental effects of fluorocarbons in the cathode lining are evaluated, and a survey is made of methods that can be used to recycle wastes generated in aluminum production.
