Composition optimization for Al2O3–SiC–C packed materials with alumochromium phosphate binder

  • Published:
Refractories and Industrial Ceramics Aims and scope

The apparent density and compressive strength have been examined in relation to the amounts of electrocorundum, graphite, and silicon carbide in the initial material based on Al2O3–SiC–C composite with the introduction of alumochromium phosphate binder. The maximum apparent density is 2.96 g/cm3 and the compressive strength 60 MPa.
