Abstract

Development of technology and equipment for compaction of refractory articles for a continuous billet casting machine (CBCM) in the Soviet Union and in Russia from the 1960s up to the present day is considered. The main production schemes for compaction and design layouts for compaction equipment (hydrostats) used in the country are given and there is also comparative analysis of compaction processes for refractory components for CBCM used in Russia and abroad.
