Refractory Cement-Free Castables: Properties and Potential Uses in Metallurgy

Abstract

Results for cement-free corundum and corundum-spinel castables tested for resistance to metal and slag attack are reported. The castables can be used to fabricate monolithic refractory linings exposed to contact with molten metal.
