Abstract

Structural materials and typical corrosion damage to the equipment of primary oil processing plants are considered. The damage and, primarily, the corrosion cracking of austenitic welds is provoked by the steaming operations, as well as idle times due to repairs and other cases when corrosive condensates and deposits collected in the equipment. Additional investigations are required to develop protective measures for the equipment against corrosion.
