Powder Metallurgy and Metal Ceramics Aims and scope

Abstract

The general state of research and application of plasma-sprayed coatings in orthopedic medicine is considered. Plasma-sprayed constructions which were first used as an alternative to existing methods of increasing the strength of the adhesion of coatings with the metallic skeleton of dental prostheses, have subsequently come to be used in otorhinolaryngological and endoprosthetic components of the locomotor system. It is shown that the use of plasma-sprayed coatings significantly increases the strength and operational characteristics of dental prostheses.
