A new anesthetic gel that was called "Anilogel" was developed based on results of technical and biopharmaceutical investigations of the domestic local anesthetic anilocaine, which possesses significant surface anesthesizing, anti-inflammatory, and moderate antimicrobial activity. Anilogel was intended for instrumental manipulations in urology. The antimicrobial component chlorhexidine bigluconate was added to the gel composition in order to avoid infectious-inflammatory complications after endourological manipulations.
