Abstract

The well-being of Catholic diocesan and religious priests and seminarians today is of immense importance. Given the declining numbers and added workloads, most diocesan and religious priests and seminarians are neglecting their well-being. Psychological well-being and spiritual health are important to consider when working with such clients. Towards this aim, a study was done using the Ryff Scales of Psychological Well-Being on Catholic diocesan and religious priests and seminarians who are in ministry on the Indian subcontinent. The findings of the study indicate that age is a strong predictor of psychological well-being. Therefore, suitable age-appropriate interventions could be developed, based on the domains of the Ryff scale, to help in the overall well-being of diocesan and religious priests and seminarians throughout their lifespan.
