Abstract
10 Gbps/20 GHz Wireless transmission and 10 Gbps free space optical (FSO) communication using orthogonal frequency division multiplexed data with 16 quadrature amplitude modulation format and polarization multiplexing technique has been proposed and demonstrated in this present paper. The architecture has the ability to successfully minimize the dispersion and inter symbol interference effect as well as increase the spectral efficiency and transmission capacity of the FSO link. The achieved low power penalties (about 1.2 and 1.6 dB) and clear constellation diagrams suggest efficiency of the proposed system. Also, the error vector magnitude values achieved for the system are < 13%. The use of low noise amplifier and cock data recovery circuit made the system more effective for FSO transmission and good bit error rate values are obtained. The system is analyzed for various weather conditions. The results confirm the potency of the system.
