Abstract
In this article, half-adder and full-adder gates are implemented by using the structure of photonic crystals and the results are expressed. The effects of structural parameters such as refractive index and radius of rods on the width of the TE/TM mode diagram have been investigated and optimal values for the refractive index and dimensions have been selected. In the following, the effects of plasmonic/graphene structures on logic gate performance have been studied. According to the results obtained in the half-adder mode, the best refractive index for the rods was n = 4 and the best refractive index for the dielectric was n0 = 0.85. Also, by creating the plasmonic effect of copper rods, the best refractive index for dielectric background was n0 = 1.8. It should be noted that finally, an improved structure was presented. The proposed plasmonic structure permits TM mode to propagate in it and therefore, it is possible to minimize the size of structure to the nanoscale.
