Abstract

In order to obtain the energy saving WDM EPON it is necessary to reduce an ONU’s electrical power consumption to the lower level and it is very important to achieve this without any compromising the implemented QoS. In this paper we present energy efficient WDM EPON model which is based on WDM EPON-FWPBA model and which supports QoS implementation. The simulations show that it is possible to save at least 3MWh per year in one WDM EPON with 64 ONUs (users).
