Abstract

In this paper, we dealt with energy pumping, synchronization, and beat phenomenon in transients and steady-state vibrations (in a non-ideal structure (NIS)) having an attachment, coupled to an oscillator containing essential nonlinearities (or nonlinear energy sink (NES)). We investigated the effectiveness of the (NES) in vibration attenuation to a nonideal structure by using numerical simulations.
