1 Correction to: Nat Hazards (2018) 92:699–726  https://doi.org/10.1007/s11069-018-3220-4

Equation 3 was found to have a typographical error that produced negative rainfall rates; the correct form of the equation is given below.
  • Category 3–5 (CAT345) hurricane intensity:
    $$\begin{aligned} R(r, f)={\left\{ \begin{array}{ll} Ae^{Bf}*\frac{r}{30} & \quad r \le 30 \hbox { km} \\ \begin{aligned}\Big ({-2.984284245 \times 10^{-7}} r^{3} + {3.033414728\times 10^{-4}} r^{2} \\ - {1.088545019\times 10^{-1}} r + 14.25059433 \Big ) e^{Bf} \end{aligned}& \quad r > 30 \hbox { km} \end{array}\right. } \end{aligned}$$
    where \(A=10.943440\) and \(B=0.018433\).
