Anesthetic and postanesthetic effects of isoflurane on neuronal activity in the rat hippocampus

Abstract

In this study, we explored anesthetic and postanesthetic effects of isoflurane on GABA-ergic and glutamatergic systems in the rat hippocampus. Our results demonstrate that different neuronal targets affected by isoflurane recover from anesthesia at dissimilar rates.
