Investigation of the Friction and Corrosion Behavior of Laser-Clad Cobalt-Based Coatings in Sea Water

  • Published:
Metal Science and Heat Treatment Aims and scope

Coatings from alloy Stellite-6 (Co – 1.15% C – 29% Cr – 4.5%W– 3% Fe – 1.0% Mo – 3.0% Ni – 1.0% Mn – 1.15% Si) deposited on the surface of steel 42CrMo (the Russian counterparts are 38KhM and 40KhF) by laser cladding are studied. The specimens are tested for electrochemical corrosion and wear in a solution simulating sea water.
