Precipitation of α2-Phase in Titanium-Aluminum Alloys

  • Published:
Metal Science and Heat Treatment Aims and scope

The processes of precipitation of α2-phase in alloys of the Ti – Al system are studied as a function of the heat treatment and of the concentration of Al. It is shown that an ordered α2-phase forms in the (α + α2)-alloys in the form of fine particles by the mechanism of nucleation and growth.
