Metal Science and Heat Treatment Aims and scope

The effect of initial stresses on the thermal strength of cylindrical and spherical claddings of nuclear power units is studied. Mathematical modeling of the process of control of their heat resistance by creating initial stresses of different physical nature is performed and the optimum variants are chosen. Mathematical modeling is shown to be helpful for solving the problems of safety of operation and prolongation of the service life of components of facilities of the nuclear power industry.
