Combined Alloying of Aluminum Alloys with Scandium and Zirconium

  • ALUMINUM ALLOYS
  • Published:
Metal Science and Heat Treatment Aims and scope

Scandium is introduced into commercial aluminum alloys together with zirconium, which stabilizes and strengthens the favorable effect of scandium. The nature of this phenomenon, including analysis of the ternary Al – Sc – Zr diagram, solidification conditions, features of aluminum solid solution of scandium and zirconium, and recrystallization, are considered in this article.
