Metal Science and Heat Treatment Aims and scope

Texture parameters that have been proposed for control of the mechanical properties and ductility anisotropy of sheet face-centered cubic alloys, their variation in the course of manufacture, and relationship to the quality characteristics are investigated. The efficiency of active control in an on-line regime with continuous heat treatment of the alloys to bring the alloys to a state of incomplete primary recrystallization which will alters the texture of the rolled product accompanied by the formation of different orientations with the plane {100} in the rolling plane, in particular, cubic orientations, is determined. Astrategy for the use of active texture control is developed and the limits of its effective application are defined.
