Special features of microcomposite structurization of ferrite in iron with elevated silicon content

  • CAST IRON
  • Published:
Metal Science and Heat Treatment Aims and scope

Some methods of microcomposite structurization of ferrite in cast iron are considered, and their effects on the changes in the mechanical properties of alloys are analyzed. The special features of iron where siliconized ferrite undergoes spinodal layering combined with other aging processes are presented. The effect of silicon, copper, and molybdenum on the structure of ferrite and on the properties of cast iron is estimated.
