Mechanism of modification of the structure of alloys during their hardening

  • Published:
Metal Science and Heat Treatment Aims and scope

The main phases in steels, cast irons, silumins, inoculating elements, and products of inoculation are studied by crystallographic analysis. Thermodynamic computations of the conditions of formation of gas bubbles on various substrates during solidification of the alloys are performed. Amechanism for hydrogen grain-refining in a structure is suggested.
