Abstract

Special features of the thermal kinetics of austenite transformation and of the hardenability of sintered steel 50N4D2M produced from partially alloyed powders are studied as a function of the concentration and of the uniformity of distribution of molybdenum. It is shown that the method of introduction of molybdenum into the initial powder affects substantially the stability of austenite in the sintered steel under continuous cooling. Concentrations of homogeneously and heterogeneously distributed molybdenum ensuring the same hardenability of the powder steel are determined.
