Abstract
The temperature dependence of the impact toughness of commercial purity titanium in coarse-grained and nanostructured states is studied. The method of transmission electron microscopy is used to investigate the structure of the initial nanostructured titanium. Results of comparative fractographic analysis of fracture surfaces of impact specimens in coarse-grained and nanostructured states at room and low temperatures are presented. The causes of elevated impact toughness of nanostructured titanium at low temperatures are discussed.
