Abstract

The phase composition and properties of martensitic steels of the Fe-C-Cr-Ni-Co-Mo-W-Nb system are studied. The nature of phase instability in long-term heating in the temperature range of 450–600°C is determined. The effect of concentration and kinetic factors on the formation of Laves, α-Cr, and σ-phases is considered. Recommendations are given on prevention of segregation of phases negatively influencing the impact toughness and corrosion resistance of the studied steels.
