Measurement Techniques Aims and scope

The State Primary Standard of the optical density unit GET 206-2016 is considered. The operation principle of the standard based on filtering the luminous flux of transmitted and reflected light is described. The composition of GET 206-2016 and its metrological characteristics are presented. Data on the study of the geometric and spectral characteristics of the standard are presented. Currently, GET 206-2016 allows solving the problems of metrological support of optical transmittance density measuring instruments (radiographic non-destructive quality control of materials in various industries) and optical reflection density measuring instruments (printing, applications of energy-saving and graphic technologies).

Additional information

The magazine “Izmeritel’naya Tekhnika” (Measuring Technique) continues publishing articles prepared within the framework of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the organization of Euro-Asian Cooperation of State Metrological Institutions (COOMET). The previous thematic issue of the magazine (“Izmeritel’naya Tekhnika,” No. 7, 2021) is fully devoted to this anniversary event. The relevance of the presented articles is due to the fact that they reflect the results and prospects of COOMET cooperation in general and the activities of the national metrological institutes of the COOMET member countries in the main thematic areas, first of all, within the framework of the “Standards of physical quantities” direction.

The thematic scope of the articles in this issue is devoted to the questions of improving national standards of temperature and optical density units, studies of the metrological characteristics of a hydrophone, the results of comparisons of standards of hardness and impulse voltage units, as well as the questions of metrological traceability of COOMET reference materials.

These articles cover a wide range of studies carried out in the COOMET member countries in the field of metrology, the results of which allow: (i) meeting the needs of science and industry in precise measurements; (ii) declaring and confirming the measuring and calibration capabilities of the COOMET member countries in the ВIPM KCRB database; (iii) improving the standards base and raising the level of metrological support in various fields of measurements in accordance with constantly growing requirements of scientific and technological progress for the quality of measurements.
