Measuring System for Determining the Filtration Characteristics of an Oil Reservoir

  • Published:
Measurement Techniques Aims and scope

A measuring system is proposed for the determination of the filtration characteristics of an oil reservoir from the experimental pressure buildup curve and the measured values of the optical density of the separated oil in the oil well flowline. A methodology has been developed for computation of the running value of the optical density and calculation of the filtration characteristics of the oil reservoir, that makes it possible to determine more precisely the hydraulic conductivity, permeability, and piezoconductivity of an oil reservoir. A schematic of a developed system for embodying the proposed methodology is provided.
