We develop an algorithm for detecting the envelope of a noisy signal whose amplitude modulation involves a harmonic signal of unknown frequency. Knowledge of the envelope enables the determination of the frequency and modulation depth. Our analysis validates and shows the performance efficiency of the proposed algorithm for signals of different origin.
