The results of an experimental investigation of the reliability of digital data transmission in a communications channel depending on the noise level are presented. The measurements were carried out for a standard MODBAS-like exchange protocol, protected from distortions by a two-byte cyclic control CRC sum. The conditions for the occurrence and size of the data exchange errors in the transmitted information are estimated.
