Optimization of the Profile of Inlet Convergent Tubes

  • Published:
Measurement Techniques Aims and scope

A brief survey of methods for the construction of the generators of different types of nozzles and inlet convergent tubes is presented. A technique for the construction of a nozzle profile that minimizes losses due to friction and vortex formation is proposed on the basis of methods of the variational calculus.
