An original approach to implementation of calibration of instruments for the measurement of the geometric parameters of spatial surfaces with the use of existing digital telecommunication networks and based on obtaining a virtual model of a real reference piece is presented. Estimation of the precision of the identification of this model relative to a real sample is performed. A technique of implementing the proposed approach is described, and the possibility and feasibility of creating virtual models for calibration studies is analyzed.
