Measurement Techniques Aims and scope

The correlation method is used to compare a virtual calibration object and digital images of this object obtained by means of study lenses. The complete arrays of displacements of points of the images relative to the original (characteristics of distortion in the lens) for the entire field of view are found. Distortion arrays and the characteristics of the color aberration for a number of different lenses and digital cameras are determined.
