The noise immunity of a mobile radio communication line with correlated Rayleigh fadings of the signal level

Measurement Techniques Aims and scope

The noise immunity of signal reception in a communication line, consisting of two consecutively-connected intervals, is analyzed and the probability density distribution of the signal level, its variance, its mean value, its mean square, the signal/noise ratio probability distribution, and the error probability of the reception of signals at the output of the second communication-line interval are determined. It is shown that, by measuring the correlation coefficient of consecutive intervals, one can uniquely determine the error probability function characteristic from the mean signal/noise ratio.
