The detection of hidden subsurface objects in the infrared wavelength band by identifying their thermal properties

A method of processing images in the infrared wavelength band, which enables the problem of detecting hidden underground objects to be solved by identifying their thermal properties using the Neyman–Pearson optimality criterion, compared with the thermal-contrast method, is described.
