Measurement Techniques Aims and scope

A brief description of liquid-crystal variable retarders with phase difference controlled by an electrical field is given. An optical circuit for use in determining the Stokes radiation parameters with the use of liquid-crystal variable retarders is proposed. The technique considered here makes it possible to determine the polarization characteristics of radiation by means of stationary analytical optical elements.
