Abstract
Two statistical procedures are considered for using a robust F test for equality of variance for two samples of distributions with any values for the excess (fourth central moment) by the use of a sample estimator and the exact value for the excess. A convenient approximate expression is found for the excess and the minimal sample volumes are determined. Convenient and exact approximations are proposed for the modified Kolmogorov test.
