Increasing Die Life During Die Forging by Means of QForm Modeling

  • Published:
Metallurgist Aims and scope

Questions are considered of increasing die life on the example of forging brass LS59-1 by hot stamping. Tool stress-strain state and the number of die cycles before failure are calculated using modeling of this process in QForm. Measures are proposed to increase die life based on analyzing basic technology.
