Study of Radial-Shear Wire Broaching Based on Modelling

  • Published:
Metallurgist Aims and scope

Materials with ultrafine grained and nanostructure exhibit unique properties. Methods of rapid plastic deformation used currently for forming this structure do not make it possible to treat long articles such as wire. Radial-shear broaching of carbon steel wire makes it possible to increase wire strength and reduce expenditure in its manufacture as a result of additional deformation by twisting.
