The rapid gains predicted for the production and use of stainless steel and stainless steel products in 2012 never materialized. Output and consumption both declined, and prospects for further growth of the industry became clouded. Trends and predictions regarding stainless steel were in fact that main topics of discussion among participants in the Seventh International Conference “The Price of Stainless Steel – 2013,” which was held in February at the Spetsstal Association.
