We present some results from the development and usage of self-propagating-high-temperature-synthesis (SHS) materials in metallurgy. Production of composite dopant alloys was used as a test case to show that self-propagating high-temperature synthesis based on bulk exothermic reactions using traditional iron alloys as a raw material is very efficient.
