  • Published:
Metallurgist Aims and scope

Abstract

The use of polyphosphate-based lubricant compounds enables the following: removal of scale from the interior surface of sleeves; creation of a reliable parting layer in the contact zone between the tool and metal being formed; and protection of the interior surface of the pipe from the effects of corrosion’ thereby improving the operational specifications of the end product. The use of modern lubricating and deoxidizing compounds enhances the operational reliability of the pipe and enables competitive products to be exported onto the international marketplace.
