Abstract

This article examines the system used for electrically powering ore-roasting furnaces at Georgian Manganese (in Zestafoni’ Georgia) and discusses its main shortcomings. It is shown that it would be possible to improve these furnaces’ power supply. The proposed improvements could be incorporated into a larger project aimed at rebuilding and upgrading the electric power supply system of the entire plant.
