Abstract
Slide bearings (bushings) for internal combustion engines are being made in the form of a bimetal with a steel base and an anti-friction layer composed of an alloy containing tin and aluminum. The Institute of Metallurgy in the Ural Division of the Russian Academy of Sciences has developed a new method and equipment for making an aluminum-lead anti-friction alloy to be used in the production of bimetallic bushings.
