Metallurgist Aims and scope

Abstract

The use of an integrated engineering system in the reconstruction of cast houses makes it possible to make more efficient use of blast furnaces based on several characteristics: it improves the working conditions for furnace personnel (hearth attendants) involved in tapping the smelting products; it reduces the amount of heat lost from the pig iron by maintaining its initial temperature; it reduces the amount of pig iron lost with the slag; it significantly decreases the volume of pollutants generated; it reduces penalties for polluting the environment.
