Abstract
A method that has been developed for calculating the main parameters in the extrusion of tubes made of hard-to-deform alloy steels allows reliable determination of the degree of cooling of the hollow during its transport and the metal’s resistance to deformation. The method makes it possible to predict the ease with which tubes of given dimensions can be extruded. It was developed on the basis of the conditions that existed at the Volga Pipe Plant in the production of experimental and commercial batches of tubes made of hard-to-deform nickel and iron-nickel alloys and steels: KhN78T, KhN45Yu, 06KhN28MDT (ÉI493), KhN40MDB (ÉP937), 03KhN30MDB (ÉK77), etc.
