Plasma Electric-Arc Cleaning of Metal Products

  • Published:
Metallurgist Aims and scope

Abstract

A technology and several experimental units have been developed to clean individual products (wheel sets, castings, forgings, metal structures), and plasma-arc modules that operate at atmospheric pressure have been developed to clean pipelines. Plasma-arc modules which operate at atmospheric pressure and use protective and reducing gases are being developed to clean large metal structures (bridges, trusses, ships).
