Influence of the Shape of Pulses of Welding Currents on the Properties of Joints of Aluminum Alloys

  • Published:
Materials Science Aims and scope

We study the influence of the parameters of impulsive power sources in the process of welding with consumable electrode on the specific features of formation of the structure and properties of welded joints of various aluminum alloys. The comparative investigations of chosen power sources are performed and welded joints of aluminum alloys are obtained in the optimal welding modes. Metallographic investigations are carried out and the specific features of softening of aluminum alloys in the heat-affected zone under the action of heat of the welding arc are analyzed. The advantages of the use of sources with regulated shape of current for the formation of the weld, its structure, and mechanical properties of welded joints are established.
