Corrosion and Electrochemical Characteristics of the Metal Surfaces (Nitrided in Glow Discharge) in Model Acid Media

  • Published:
Materials Science Aims and scope

We study the electrochemical and corrosion characteristics in acid model media of the diffusion layers formed in metals nitrided in the glow discharge. We established the relationship between the thermodynamic potential of nitrided surfaces and their electrode potential. It is shown that the kinetics of corrosion processes is determined by the relationship between the thermodynamic potential and the forces of the mirror image of the “debris-layer.”
