We present the results of investigation of the possibilities of application of the method of electrophoretic deposition for the formation of the wear-resistant coatings based on titanium carbide and the dependence of the yield of deposits on the technological modes of the process. It is shown that adhesively strong titanium carbide coatings can be obtained on steel substrates by liquid-phase sintering of electrophoretic deposits under the condition that a nickel–phosphorus sublayer of the eutectic composition is added to the composition of the coating.
