We have investigated the form changes of a palladium plate at 280 °C in the course of its one-sided isothermal saturation with hydrogen over a wide range of pressures and after degassing. We have also compared the results of studying the plate bending under the influence of hydrogen and mechanical loading. A hypothesis on the nature of this phenomenon has been advanced.
