Computational experiment for determination of the cyclic durability of a boiler drum of a thermal power plant

  • Published:
Materials Science Aims and scope

We present the results of finite-element simulation of the stressed state of a working high-pressure steam-boiler drum under in-service conditions with regard for elastoplastic deformation, actual geometry, and extractions of the metal. We have established the value of the parameter of accumulated damage of the drum metal under the modes of stationary operation, scheduled start-stop, hydraulic tests, and emergency stop of the boiler.
